The Möhlmann handle factory was founded in 1888 in Tewel by Friedrich Möhlmann and his wife Anna-Marie. Initially, it was a workshop for the production of agricultural implements and handles. Friedrich Möhlmann, a trained carpenter, worked primarily with ash wood, which he purchased locally and processed himself. Using simple hand tools, he produced various handles and tools, which were mainly purchased by farmers and blacksmiths.
